Forgiveness

All of us get hurt. . . our pride is stepped on, and a desire for revenge, to hurt in return arises within us, but as Christians we can NEVER allow our flesh to rule in this manner.  Forgiveness must be foundational in our striving to be Christ-like.

Immediately after the Lord's prayer in Matthew chapter six, Jesus makes this statement:

Mat 6:14-15  For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:  (15)  But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

Your forgiveness or lack of forgiveness supersedes. . . takes precedence over what Jesus did on the cross.  If you are unwilling to forgive, then you won't receive forgiveness from Him.  This is a death sentence from God, for who doesn't need His forgiveness.  Who hasn't committed offenses due the wages of sin?

Lay down that burden of hurt that you have been carrying.  Give it to Him.  Don't let it destroy you. Let Him deal with it.

I love You my Lord. . .

Thank You for forgiving me. . .
