  Chapter 10 Job 10:1 KJV  My soul is weary of my life; I will leave my complaint upon myself; I will speak in the bitterness of my soul. Job reiterates that he is tired of what his life has become.It's not clear who he is speaking to.  It doesn’t seem to be Eliphaz or Bildad.  Maybe God?  Maybe just speaking to no one in particular, just to vent his feelings.  I often make the mistake, when my wife is speaking of her situation, that she is particularly speaking to me, when she isn’t wanting answers, but just an ear to hear her feelings.   Chapter 9 Job 9:1 KJV  Then Job answered and said, Job 9:2 KJV  I know it is so of a truth: but how should man be just with God? We’re told that Job is answering, but we’re not certain precisely who he is responding to, and which words.  It makes most sense that he is responding to Bildad, but that may not be. Who can stand before God, and claim righteousness?   Chapter 7 Job continues to speak Job 7:1 (KJV) Is there not an appointed time to man upon earth? are not his days also like the days of an hireling? The reference here seems to be of the hard service of a mercenary, conscripted for a set period of time, possibly more ill used then the regular native members of the military. Job 7:2 (KJV) As a servant earnestly desireth the shadow, and as an hireling looketh for the reward of his work: Job 7:3 (KJV) So am I made to possess months of vanity , and wearisome nights are appointed to me. A slave’s work is done at sundown, when he can rest.  One hired for a task is paid at the end of each day. Strong’s H5157 translated here as ‘possess’, has a meaning of inherit.  We have no control over what we inherit.  Upon Job was bestowed months of Strong’s H7723, translated ‘vanity’ useless/lying/vain/desolating/evil.  Wearisome nights. . . nights which usually bring rest and restoration of strength, are themselves fatigu...
