Hosea 10:12

In my devotions a few days ago, I found the following verse.

Hosea 10:12
Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the LORD, till he come and rain righteousness upon you.

Cast forth seeds of right doing. Cultivate the ground and plant for yourself, not for another master, not for sale in the market. . . but plant and grow for your own nutrition and sustenance. Grow these crops for your own daily bread. Let this work of your hands be acts of rightness and justice and honor. Of this seed will grow a crop of undeserved forgiveness from God. As much as we may try to live righteous and holy lives, we still fall short of perfection and need repentance and forgiveness. The humble seed of righteousness, brings forth sweet fruit. . .savory fruit of God’s forgiveness when we stumble and transgress.

Clear the neglected weedy area. Tolerate no neglected and idle acreage in your harvest fields. Let every area of your life become productive. This is now the holy season of plowing, planting, cultivation, working of the hard and darkly ruddy earth of our nature. . .righteous working softens the seed bed and allows the life giving Word and water to soak deeply into our souls. . .

Now! It is time to pursue ~ the Hebrew emphasizes ~ THE LORD!!! This work and this preparation, is for the purpose of finding an intimate relationship with God in your harvest, that His righteousness will then arrive. . .abide. . .enter with you as a flowing of water. . .directed as an arrow shot from his bow. . .instructing you. . . teaching you. . .revealing His glory and honor to you . . .covering you with His true righteousness. . .

What beauty. . .what power in this verse. I hunger for you Jesus. I tolerate no barrier to You in my life. . .I thirst for you my God. . .I cannot get enough of You. . .

Thank you my God. . .
Thank you my Lord. . .

Dave
