Our Amazing God. . .



I've used the following several times  in my teaching in church on the awesomeness, and incomprehensibility of God and God's creation:

Many years ago now they pointed the Hubble telescope at the darkest emptiest patch of sky that they knew of.  In that area of 'nothing there' sky, the Hubble telescope found 50,000 galaxies in an area about the size of the full moon.  Each galaxy containing billions of stars.  Multiply that by the 129,600 full moons it would take to cover the entire sky. . . beyond amazing. . . 

Yesterday I read where they had performed the same exercise with the Webb telescope. . . .pointed it at the darkest patch of sky they could find. . . The Webb telescope saw 25,000 galaxies in an area the size of a grain of sand held at arm's length. . .

How many grains of sand at arm's length does it take to cover the sky. . . beyond my puny mind's ability to calculate. . .

AND. . . these are merely the galaxies that we can see with our infantile technology.  How vast is our Universe?  And God occupies every square inch of it all.  There is nowhere that He is not.  There is NOTHING that He is unaware of.  

Matthew 10:30 (NKJV) But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.

Is that the limit?  Only the hairs of your head?  Or more likely every cell of your body. . . every subatomic particle of every piece of matter are all numbered in God infinite mind.  What is the limit of our God???

HE HAS NO LIMIT. . . and He loves YOU!

Matthew 10:29-31 (NKJV) Are not two sparrows sold for a copper coin? And not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father's will. 30 But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. 31 Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.

He created this Universe for YOU.  He robed Himself in flesh and went to the cross to pay for YOUR sins. . . He asks that you love Him in return.

What an amazing God we serve. . .

It's beyond belief that He places any importance on me, but He does.  He loves ME! (and you too)

Love Him back. . .

Walnut in the Woodpile. . .

I am a woodworker. I love the beauty of wood. I love making things from wood. I love the rich glistening, almost iridescent beauty of a finely finished piece of wood. I love the warmth of wood, compared to steel or glass or ceramic. I love looking at the growth rings in a piece of wood.
