Psalms 11:3 If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?

The Bible and Jesus are under attack. Dark forces within our world want them destroyed, but where is the news in that? There is no change in that agenda, since the days of Jesus. Jesus was crucified. Bibles have been banned and burned through all of history, but in the past it was the unbelievers who were our opposition. Today both Jesus and the Bible are being attacked, most seriously from wolves in sheep’s clothing. Jesus spoke of them:

Matthew 7:15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

False prophets are dangerous for their similarity to genuine prophets. By all external evidence, false prophets appear to be genuine Holy men and women of God. These imposters camouflage their words of death and destruction, by hiding under the skins of dead sheep.

From his first words to mankind through Eve, Satan attacked the Word of God. He convinced Eve that the Word of God did not mean what Eve had understood it to be. He convinced her that what God had plainly said meant something else. Eve and ultimately all of mankind fell, due to Eve’s choosing the word of Satan over the Word of God.

That was Satan’s first strategy, and it is a strategy which continues today. New Bible translations come out, with all references to sexual immorality removed. Large mainline Protestant denominations ordain, not mere ministers or preachers, but bishops who are living lives of sexual immorality. There are churches who call themselves Christian, who support a woman’s right to kill her baby merely because it is an inconvenience to her to have a child. Supposed Christian churches preach that once you say a little prayer, professing Jesus Christ to be your Savior, that you can then commit any and all sins and be 100% sure that you are going to heaven. These corruptions of the Word of God, these attacks come not from unbelievers, but from churches who profess to be following the footsteps of Christ.

As Christians, we are all united under the banner of those who follow Jesus. We all have crosses both inside and outside of our church buildings. Externally there is nothing much to distinguish us one from another. The wolves in sheep’s clothing have a message with a kernel of truth in it. We all cherish the vision of our Savior surrounded by children. . .with a recently rescued trembling pure white, perfect lamb draped over His neck. We want to see him sitting in a beautiful garden, weeping for Jerusalem. We remember Him walking on the water and feeding thousands with a few loaves and fishes, healing the blind eyes, casting out demons, curing leprosy, raising Lazarus. . . We want kindly eyes, a gentle voice. . .we want one who is closer than a brother, who will never forsake us, who was tempted as we are, who will forgive us 7 x 70 times. . .We all agree that God is love. . .but. . . but. . . but!!!

But has the world forgotten? He is our Savior today. He has made a way for us to be saved. . . Saved from what? Saved from the judgement to come. . .

1 Peter 2:6-8 Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded. 7 Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner, 8 And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed.

He is kindly and gentle to children and innocent lambs. He is loving and sweet to the righteous and holy believers He weeps for the lost, because he knows what is coming to them.

Revelation 20:11-15 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. 13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. 14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Jesus is sitting alone on the great white throne. There is no semi-retired Old Testament deity sitting beside of Him. Jesus alone is the judge who sends all who are not written in the book of life to burn forever in the lake of fire. . .

The angel told Joseph:

Matthew 1:21-23 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. 22 Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, 23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

God with us!!! The name doesn’t mean, 1/3rd of God with us. Jesus is God. Jesus will judge us. Jesus did not come to do away with the Law of Moses:

Matthew 5:17-20 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. 18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. 19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20 For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.

Jesus could not do away with the Law. The Law is part of the Word of God:

John 1:1-3 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. . .

And again:

Hebrews 11:3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

And again:

John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

And still yet again:

Revelation 19:11-13 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. 12 His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. 13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.

Speaking in the past tense, “he had a name written, that no man knew. . .”, Previously no man knew. . .but, now He is revealed, the revelation of who Jesus is, “and his name is called The Word of God. . .”

The revelation of Jesus Christ. This is who He is. Jesus is the Word made flesh. . .His name is revealed. He is the Word of God. God with us the angel said. The Word made flesh. . .

In 303 verses Scripture contains the phrases, “The word of God” or “The word of the Lord”. Pay attention to these phrases. The first usage in the Bible is:

Genesis 15:1 After these things the word of the LORD came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward.

Reread it with Revelation 19:13 in mind:

Genesis 15:1 After these things the word of the LORD [Jesus] came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward.

Go through the Bible. Look again at the verse we read earlier:

Hebrews 11:3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God [Jesus], so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

Thank you my Lord. . . Thank you my God. . .

Paul knew the crisis to face the church. He warned of it. He was speaking to us:

Colossians 2:8-9 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. (9) For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.

You cannot attack the Bible without also attacking Jesus. You cannot change the message of the Bible without also changing Jesus. You cannot love Jesus and have Him as your Lord without also accepting the Bible and its message. If you deny the Bible you deny Jesus. The Word of God and Jesus are inseparable. . .If you love Jesus you must likewise love the Word of God. . .Jesus is the Word made flesh. . .

I love you my God. . .
I cherish you my God. . .
Thank you my God. . .
