Soul Talk. . .

I speak not to your flesh, with its malignant hungers and desires. I speak not to your mind, with its corrosive pride and rebelliousness. I speak to your Soul, that everlasting spiritual part of you, which will eternally live with the consequences of the actions of your flesh and your mind.

You Soul. . .You need to take command. Long after the shell of this body is dust. . .ages after your mind has succumbed to dementia and unconsciousness, cloaked by the false escape of death, you will remain, forever remembering and reliving each day of life, replaying each minute of each day of your life on this earth. . .far too late for repentance. . .ages after forgiveness can be granted. . .painful wishful aching remorse. . .rivers of eyeless tears shed in the horror of suffocating darkness. . .endless and hopeless weeping for a life lived and relived. . .again and again replayed. . .vividly minutely remembering, your rebellion and denial of God.

Long ages after the lust of the flesh has faded from memory. . .Uncountable years after the pride of life is shown to be of counterfeit importance. . .the consequences of these temporary temporal decisions will remain.

You Soul, must manifest yourself. You Soul, must exert the force of your will in this lifetime, for you will stand alone stripped of body and mind, before He who is pure, and unblemished, and eternally holy and righteous. . . Your false sense of your own goodness will be shown for the dark lie that it truly is.

I cry. . .I shed tears for you. The lie of your present life, was also the lie of my life past. The memories of that past, the memories of my self justification and pride remain in tatters. I can see all my foolishness for what it was. . .BUT!!!. . .BUT!!!. . .BUT!!! I have only the regrets of the memories. I have deep scars from the past, but I have received greater healing. I came to awareness with time ahead of the consequences. I regret the foolishness of wasted decades, but I rejoice in the forgiveness and peace, which I have now found.

I bent my knee. . .I gave up my pride. . .I turned away from the lusts of my flesh before it was too late. . .I was a fool. . .I was blind, but my Soul overcame and I will live forever in celebration of that day. . .

I pray for you. . .I pray for you Soul to come to the light and be cleansed. . .Listen Soul. . . . .Listen to the call of God. . .

I love you my God. . .
I love you my Lord. . .
My Soul abides within you. . .
My Soul rejoices the day it found You. . .

For the Sake of Ten. . .

Genesis 18:20-21 And the LORD said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous; 21 I will go down now, and see whether they have done altogether according to the cry of it, which is come unto me; and if not, I will know. . .

Genesis 18:32 And he said, Oh let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak yet but this once: Peradventure ten shall be found there. And he said, I will not destroy it for ten's sake.

God’s hearing was filled with the cries of the victims of the wickedness of Sodom and Gomorrah. He heard again and again the pain and anguish resulting from the violence and depraved acts committed by these people.

God knows the number of hairs upon the heads of every man, every woman, every child on earth. He intimately knows the number of hairs upon the heads of every unborn child. He surely knows the exact number of feathers on every bird and the precise number of scales upon each fish in the sea. . .

Do you seriously think that He did not know what was going on in Sodom and Gomorrah??? He surely had a purpose in coming before Abraham. It was a test for Abraham. . .It was a lesson for Abraham. . .

Genesis 18:22-23 And the men turned their faces from thence, and went toward Sodom: but Abraham stood yet before the LORD. 23 And Abraham drew near, and said, Wilt thou also destroy the righteous with the wicked?

The angels turned and left for Sodom and Gomorrah. . .but Abraham stood yet before the Lord. . .Abraham did not bow his head. . .he did not avert his eyes and go about his business trying to camoflage the hidden thoughts in his heart. He did not leave felt things unspoken. . . Abraham was a righteous man. He did not pretend all was well, when his heart was troubled. He felt such love and compassion and concern for righteous men and women, whom he did not even know, whom he merely held out hope that they existed in Sodom and Gomorrah and was afraid that they would be caught up in their cities destruction.

For these unknown, but envisioned like minded brothers and sisters, Abraham delayed God’s progress, thereby preventing God from leaving with the angels. Abraham did not give way, did not defer. It almost appears that he stood in God’s path after the angels had left, having the audacity to bargain with God on behalf of the righteous, to prevent what Abraham thought to be an unrighteous act by God.

We are not told the heart of God. We do not know what His plans were when He arrived at Sodom and Gomorrah. We do know that the way of God is perfect. We do know that God had no need of Abraham’s bargaining, to be a perfectly righteous and holy God. . .

God did not rebuke Abraham for his lack of faith in God’s righteousness. God saw past the flaw in Abraham and still yet honored Abraham’s sincerely honorable heart. God respected Abraham’s breaking heart, by not merely listening to Abraham, but by giving the appearance of modifying His plan to accommodate Abraham’s concern.

Abraham and God bargained down until they arrived at the number of ten righteous people being required to save the cities and there they stop. Abraham pressed no further and God offered no further concessions below the number ten. . . For the two cities, God would call off the planned destruction for ten righteous people. . .

Five people in each city is that which God would require. . .One family in each city, is the minimum level of righteousness that God would allow for the cities to remain standing. To redeem the thousands of people of Sodom and Gomorrah, one lone family was required to be found in each city. A lone believer would not be enough. An isolated pair of believers, or a solitary couple would not suffice.

Believers must be able to gather together for their faith to survive. That is the purpose and reason for our communal gathering together, our communal worship and fellowship. We need each others faith and support to survive. We need brothers and sisters to lift us up in times of need. We must have brothers and sisters with whom to celebrate in times of victory and joy. . . We cannot long exist, alone spiritually in a spiritual wasteland.

For the equivalent of one righteous, believing family in each city the Lord would hold out hope that the cities could be salvaged without destruction. A family has shown itself fertile and capable of reproducing. For righteousness to grow and spread there must be good seed and fertile ground. A family has demonstrated that potential fulfilled through their repeated bearing and raising of children across the years.

What does your family’s righteousness count for? You are not evangelists. You do not travel the country spreading the Good news. You are not eloquent preachers of God’s word. What impact does your simple righteous family’s life, have upon your community? . .One lone family in each city would have prevented the burning death and destruction of thousands. . .For the lack of five individuals in each city, the cities were destroyed in a burning hail of death.

How far does your influence spread? How many evil winds do you break in the lee side of your steadfastness? How many rumors of malicious gossip die when they arrive upon your shores? How many dark corners to you bring light to? How much hope does your life give to those who have no hope? How many see your example of living for God and thereby gain an understanding of the grace of God? What impact does your continued worship have on your neighbors, in times of trial and pain?

How wide do your prayers spread for co-workers, city leaders, neighbors, friends? How contagious is the love you show? The courtesy. . .the forgiveness. . . the generosity each having its source as and inspired by the love of God, all flow outwardly from the righteous as a wellspring of living water, refreshing cool water, essential life giving water coming from God and flowing through us to a harshly arid desert land. . .

Never underestimate the importance of your family's righteousness and holiness in your community. God recognized your importance and spoke that He was willing to save two otherwise entirely wicked cities, wholly deserving of destruction for the hope of the righteousness and holiness offered by one such family in each. . .

I love you my God. . .
I thank you my Lord. . .

Psalms 11:3 If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?

The Bible and Jesus are under attack. Dark forces within our world want them destroyed, but where is the news in that? There is no change in that agenda, since the days of Jesus. Jesus was crucified. Bibles have been banned and burned through all of history, but in the past it was the unbelievers who were our opposition. Today both Jesus and the Bible are being attacked, most seriously from wolves in sheep’s clothing. Jesus spoke of them:

Matthew 7:15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

False prophets are dangerous for their similarity to genuine prophets. By all external evidence, false prophets appear to be genuine Holy men and women of God. These imposters camouflage their words of death and destruction, by hiding under the skins of dead sheep.

From his first words to mankind through Eve, Satan attacked the Word of God. He convinced Eve that the Word of God did not mean what Eve had understood it to be. He convinced her that what God had plainly said meant something else. Eve and ultimately all of mankind fell, due to Eve’s choosing the word of Satan over the Word of God.

That was Satan’s first strategy, and it is a strategy which continues today. New Bible translations come out, with all references to sexual immorality removed. Large mainline Protestant denominations ordain, not mere ministers or preachers, but bishops who are living lives of sexual immorality. There are churches who call themselves Christian, who support a woman’s right to kill her baby merely because it is an inconvenience to her to have a child. Supposed Christian churches preach that once you say a little prayer, professing Jesus Christ to be your Savior, that you can then commit any and all sins and be 100% sure that you are going to heaven. These corruptions of the Word of God, these attacks come not from unbelievers, but from churches who profess to be following the footsteps of Christ.

As Christians, we are all united under the banner of those who follow Jesus. We all have crosses both inside and outside of our church buildings. Externally there is nothing much to distinguish us one from another. The wolves in sheep’s clothing have a message with a kernel of truth in it. We all cherish the vision of our Savior surrounded by children. . .with a recently rescued trembling pure white, perfect lamb draped over His neck. We want to see him sitting in a beautiful garden, weeping for Jerusalem. We remember Him walking on the water and feeding thousands with a few loaves and fishes, healing the blind eyes, casting out demons, curing leprosy, raising Lazarus. . . We want kindly eyes, a gentle voice. . .we want one who is closer than a brother, who will never forsake us, who was tempted as we are, who will forgive us 7 x 70 times. . .We all agree that God is love. . .but. . . but. . . but!!!

But has the world forgotten? He is our Savior today. He has made a way for us to be saved. . . Saved from what? Saved from the judgement to come. . .

1 Peter 2:6-8 Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded. 7 Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner, 8 And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed.

He is kindly and gentle to children and innocent lambs. He is loving and sweet to the righteous and holy believers He weeps for the lost, because he knows what is coming to them.

Revelation 20:11-15 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. 13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. 14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Jesus is sitting alone on the great white throne. There is no semi-retired Old Testament deity sitting beside of Him. Jesus alone is the judge who sends all who are not written in the book of life to burn forever in the lake of fire. . .

The angel told Joseph:

Matthew 1:21-23 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. 22 Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, 23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

God with us!!! The name doesn’t mean, 1/3rd of God with us. Jesus is God. Jesus will judge us. Jesus did not come to do away with the Law of Moses:

Matthew 5:17-20 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. 18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. 19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20 For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.

Jesus could not do away with the Law. The Law is part of the Word of God:

John 1:1-3 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. . .

And again:

Hebrews 11:3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

And again:

John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

And still yet again:

Revelation 19:11-13 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. 12 His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. 13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.

Speaking in the past tense, “he had a name written, that no man knew. . .”, Previously no man knew. . .but, now He is revealed, the revelation of who Jesus is, “and his name is called The Word of God. . .”

The revelation of Jesus Christ. This is who He is. Jesus is the Word made flesh. . .His name is revealed. He is the Word of God. God with us the angel said. The Word made flesh. . .

In 303 verses Scripture contains the phrases, “The word of God” or “The word of the Lord”. Pay attention to these phrases. The first usage in the Bible is:

Genesis 15:1 After these things the word of the LORD came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward.

Reread it with Revelation 19:13 in mind:

Genesis 15:1 After these things the word of the LORD [Jesus] came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward.

Go through the Bible. Look again at the verse we read earlier:

Hebrews 11:3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God [Jesus], so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

Thank you my Lord. . . Thank you my God. . .

Paul knew the crisis to face the church. He warned of it. He was speaking to us:

Colossians 2:8-9 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. (9) For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.

You cannot attack the Bible without also attacking Jesus. You cannot change the message of the Bible without also changing Jesus. You cannot love Jesus and have Him as your Lord without also accepting the Bible and its message. If you deny the Bible you deny Jesus. The Word of God and Jesus are inseparable. . .If you love Jesus you must likewise love the Word of God. . .Jesus is the Word made flesh. . .

I love you my God. . .
I cherish you my God. . .
Thank you my God. . .

Street Ministry 7-1-10

All day long I've been looking forward to street ministry tonight. I've on fire all day, with anticipation of what the Lord was going to do this evening. As I took my first steps tonight, it was like Christmas morning, not knowing what was to be found under the tree, but knowing that it would be something wonderful. . .

I don't think there is any doubt that tonight was the quietest evening I've ever had on the street doing ministry. I prayed with no one. I talked with a few people and prayed for them, but the street was very very quiet. There were very few children in the apartments, and few adults were out also. . . I don't know. . .

The feeling remains strongly with me that something wondrous was accomplished tonight, but I don't have a clue as to what it was. If only I could see with spiritual eyes. I pondered upon this for most of my time walking up and down the street.

With our physical eyes we see by reflected light. Virtually all reflected light, can be traced in one way or another from a sun, if not our own sun. We see the sun's light reflected in the moon. The light burning in the lamps in our homes may come from electricity generated by coal, which is the energy of sunlight stored by plants, or by hydroelectric power generated by water falling over a dam, water which was evaporated by the sun, and subsequently fell as rain and filled the reservoir that powered the dam.

The electricity could have come from wind turbines. Without the sun, there would be no temperature and pressure gradients which create the wind, which powers the turbines. Or again the electricity could have been created in a nuclear power plant, but the only natural source of elements with atomic weights greater than iron, is in the super nova explosion of massively huge stars which died and by their death seeded the rest of the universe with the heavy elements such a gold, lead, and uranium. So nuclear power too is also dependent upon the light of a sun for its source.

Every shade and hue of color began as the overpowering and tangible brilliance of the sun. No on looks upon the sun intentionally. It is beyond our eyes ability to tolerate, but filtered and reflected and reflected again all things of physical beauty trace their origins back to this source.

Likewise all spiritual light comes from the Son. And to see spiritually we must become attuned to His light. His light is there, if you have eyes to see it. He is the spiritual light of the world. His light comes in differing wavelengths, like physical light. The glare of the physical light, can blind us to His light.

The Son has a spectrum of light by which He shines. The glowing embers of His red light of love, the soft purely white light of His grace, the infrared deeply warming light of His companionship, the sharply powerful burning ultraviolet light of of His holiness and judgement.

For me to see spiritually, I have to be attuned to the reflection of His differing lights upon those around me. The reflection of His light is there. If only my eyes were more finely tuned to it.

Help my blindness Lord. . .
Let me see by Your light. . .
Lead me by Your light. . .
Heal me by Your light. . .
Comfort me by Your light. . .
Console me by Your light. . .

Let me be a pure reflection of Your light. . .

I love you my God. . .
I love you my Lord. . .
