Fear Not. . . Do Not Be Afraid. . .
Over the 6 years since its release (2006), I have very much enjoyed the movie, “Facing the Giants.” If you have not seen it, here is a link to the movie’s website:

I highly highly recommend this movie. I cannot begin to remember the number of times that I’ve watched this movie. It is so inspiring. It is a favorite of my grandkids. . . It is a favorite of their grandpa (and grandma). . . It is a wonderful wonderfully uplifting and faith building movie.
At one point the main character in the movie, a football coach, says something to the effect that: God’s Word says Do not fear 365 times. That quote has stuck in my mind in the years since I first saw this movie. I thought that very powerfully symbolic and a few days ago, I repeated that statement to a co-worker, but as the words left my lips, I was convicted. In the course of my life, I have found that it is dangerous to repeat things that I hear, without checking them out for myself, so I did a quick search on my e-Sword Bible software and the search did not come up with anything near to that number.
I’ve played around with this study for a few days, refining my search to include synonyms of ‘fear’, etc. This increased the number of verses found to over 700 total verses which included the words: ‘fear’, 'fearful', ‘afraid’, ‘terror’, ‘despair’, etc. After reviewing each verse, and deleting those which were not telling us, not to fear, I still only found about half the number of verses (174) as quoted in the movie. All in all though, I found it a very valuable study.
In addition here a few verses, which did not fit into the ‘fear not’, ‘do not be afraid’ category, but blessed my heart when I read them and I could not delete them from my list:
I hope you are blessed with this list.

Deu_6:24 And the LORD commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear the LORD our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as it is at this day. |
Deu_10:12 And now, Israel, what doth the LORD thy God require of thee, but to fear the LORD thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the LORD thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul, |
Psa_103:13 Like as a father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear him. |
Psa_111:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever. |
Psa_145:19 He will fulfil the desire of them that fear him: he also will hear their cry, and will save them. |
Psa_147:11 The LORD taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy. |
Pro_1:7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction. |
Pro_10:27 The fear of the LORD prolongeth days: but the years of the wicked shall be shortened. |
I hope you are blessed with this list.
